V Janet Brewster was invited to participate in a Luncheon and Panel discussion at the Third Annual Supplier Diversity Matchmaking Event, Building Capacity, Making Connections Forum. The event was held for Marcellus, Utica, and all Shale regions, and took place August 6 and 7 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Canonsburg, PA. The panel included both corporate and Minority/Women Business Entrepreneurs. The event was sponsored by BP, Consol Energy, Noble Energy, EQT, Shell, and XTO Energy.

Shell Oil Company, long time partner of Brewster Procurement Group, Inc. nominated Brewster Procurement Group, Inc. to be honored as a United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) HBE (Hispanic Business Enterprise) Elite during the annual HBE Elite Luncheon at the 2013 USHCC Annual National Convention in Chicago, IL.  The event honors those Hispanics who are truly driving our nation's economic development, and who have built successful relationships with large corporations.  The HBE Elite Luncheon will be from 12:30 - 1:45 PM September 16, 2013 at the Hilton Chicago with photos beforehand with Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the USHCC, Marc Rodrigues, Chairman of the USHCC, and Carla Preston, Chair of the USHCC Procurement Council Advisory Board.  Janet was nominated by Brian K. Hall, Manager, Supplier Diversity and Diversity Outreach for Shell Oil Company.
 

Janet was also honored by Latina Style Magazine at the Latina Style Honors Latina Leaders of NCLR reception on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Hilton Chicago. At each conference LATINA Style with its partners, brings together the Latina Leadership of the organization and the directors and managers of the different programs the organizations produce.  These Latinas are the backbone of our organizations and seldom receive the recognition they deserve.





United Space Alliance CEO and Management Team travels to Lafayette to personally thank Janet Brewster and the employees of Brewster Procurement Group for “Job Well Done” in their support of the Space Shuttle Program and Human Space Flight.
Mike McCulley, President and CEO, United Space Alliance. LLC, and former astronaut and pilot of Shuttle Mission STS-34 and members of the Management Team meet with employees of Brewster Procurement to show their appreciation for and support for the Space Shuttle program. Janet Brewster has worked closely with Mike to advocate small business participation in NASA‘s Space Shuttle program. She has participated in annual lobbying efforts in Washington to support the NASA budget, has presented at the Space Shuttle Symposium at Cape Canaveral, and has been a past recipient of the Supplier of Year award at Marshall Space Center Huntsville, AL. Janet has attended 2 previous shuttle launches at the Cape to witness the successful launch of Brewster supplied material in to Space.

Janet Brewster addresses the media with Congresswoman Velazquez (D-N.Y.), Chairperson of the House Small Business Committee, in Washington, DC shortly after Hurricane Katrina and Rita. Congresswoman Velazquez (D-N.Y.) invited Janet to Washington D.C. to speak for Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita for the House Small Business Committee on Capitol Hill. Janet’s goal was to try to generate business for her peers, positively affect subcontracting initiatives for SDB’s, and foster opportunity and incentives for contracting and subcontracting with SDB’s and small businesses in the affected regions.
